Lead With Purpose is the pledge that activates DYCD's youth to develop civic engagement projects targeted at ending gun violence in their communities. Youth in DYCD Mentoring programs, My Brother's & Sister's Keeper Youth Council, local youth councils or leadership groups will have the opportunity to collaborate and develop community service projects.
Create With Purpose is the pledge that activates DYCD's visionary youth to use the power of expression and innovation to raise awareness, inspire, and transform their communities to join the fight to end gun violence. Through Create With Purpose, youth will have the opportunity to participate in the DYCD Young Sharks competition or join the Step It Up community by creating a dance or step piece to tell the story of how gun violence is impacting their communities.
Play With Purpose is the pledge that activates DYCD's sports-based youth initiatives - Saturday Night Lights and Soccer for Success - to empower youth across the city through the power of sports. Through Play With Purpose, youth will take charge in being advocates in their communities to end gun violence and bring awareness.
